Happy to announce that on Monday, 27 September, the long awaited 2010 annual MSOL auction will be launched, 100% of the profits of which will be donated to the charity supported by Michael and his wife, Lexa Doig - the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.

As well as many Michael Shanks/Stargate SG-1 related items - including some of Michael's own scripts from SG-1, and from recent tele-movies and series such as Smallville, Burn Notice and Sanctuary - the auction will also offer items from past and current popular shows, such as Star Trek, Supernatural, Torchwood, Battlestar Galactica, Farscape and Dr. Who and - of course! - Stargate: Atlantis.

To date, the MSOL auctions and associated fundraising efforts have raised over $105,000 U.S. for the MS Society of Canada.

This year's event, which includes items donated and/or signed for the auction by Michael and Lexa, Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Ben Browder, Joe Flanigan, David Hewlett, Sir Patrick Stewart, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy - among others - will, we hope, be just as successful as the last.

The first 20 items in the auction will be launched on 27 September, with more items added each day.

For more information, check out the MSOL Auction 6 home page - and please feel free to distribute the above news to any websites, lists, forums and online communities.

Thank you, in anticipation, to all who have supported - and continue to support - our fundraising efforts. Your contribution is very much appreciated.

Or, more appropriately, Prepare For Michael...  with a really big mace!

"Absolute Justice" hits UK TV screens tomorrow night  (my time - in other words, 3 Aug :-)  ) on E4 at 9:00pm - though as always, check your local schedules just in case!  Though it seems, alas, the ep has been split into 2 parts to air over 2 weeks for UK viewers.

Anywho, a different trailer has been thrown together for the UK folks... now available on MSOL. :-)

Enjoy!

... er, okay, make that the Hawkman!

The CW have released a promo for the upcoming 10th season - though I think the clip of Michael/Hawkman is actually taken from Season 9 - but you can find it on Youtube, or download it from MSOL.

And in case you missed it (cos I posted this directly on LiveJournal the other day), a short version of the Comic Con video - which includes these scenes:

You can grab the video from Youtube - those seeing this post on LJ, this is a better copy than posted the other day! - or (also) download it from MSOL.

Enjoy!

Well, maybe at this point - considering the age of Carter Hall - it should be Archaeology Man. *g*

Before/during (whatever!) the Smallville Comic Con panel, a promo clip was screened to the oft-screaming crowd which showed quick key scenes from each season, 1 - 9, finishing off with a sneak peak of the upcoming Season 10 (starting in September).

Look who's back! :-)

Apologies for the fuzzy-ness... screencaps of a video of a video uploaded to youtube and converted to mp4. :-)

Oh - and if you'd like the video and don't know how to download from youtube, right click and save as here.

Enjoy!

The kind of eyes that drive wolves mad...

Little Red Riding Hood
You sure are looking good
You're everything that a big bad wolf could want...

Seems that filming of "Red Riding Hood" (or the Girl With The Red Riding Hood" or whatever the heck they're calling it!") is getting a wee bit of attention already, and filming has only just started!

They're paparazzi pics, so they won't be going up on Michael Shanks Online, but a couple of pics of Michael - and other cast members - walking about the set of the film have surfaced.

Note: BEWARE SPOILERS ON THE SECOND PHOTO!!

SPOILER ALERT

SPOILER ALERT

SPOILER ALERT

There are more photos to be found in various places online, watermarked ones on LaineyGossip, non-watermarked ones (the same photos, btw) on Zimbio, and bigger ones (with a smaller watermark) on JustJared.

Amused to note that Gary Oldman is playing a werewolf hunter... but wears a purple coat. *g* One assumes he changes he outfit before going out to do the stealthy hunting thing. *g*

Anywho, enjoy!

The film will get it's first big screen release during the week of the Possible Worlds Canadian Film Festival in Sydney, Australia on 4 August, 2010.

A quick public service announcement. :-)

Last year one of the scripts we auctioned during the annual MSOL was Michael's personal copy of the shooting script for the Season 8 episode, "Zero Hour".

The winner - the lovely Heikki - donated the script to help a fundraising currently underway to enable the completion of an independent short feature, in which Torchwood star Gareth David Lloyd is starring and acting as Executive Producer.

More info can be found in the usual spot, and on the eBay listing... oh, and about the script itself, you can check the original listing we had on MSOL.

For some insane reason the script was put up on eBay on a public holiday weekend, and only for 3 days - so the clock is ticking on this one! But here's a second chance to grab one of Michael's original scripts. :-)

Please feel free to spread the word... Given what the scripts go for, I think it was an incredible generous gesture to donate it, so would like to get the word out there. :-)

For now, a few scans (the last pic by Heikki, not me!)

Hope you all had a great weekend - and hope all in California are okay!

There's a new, and very long (yay!) interview with Michael on the MovieWeb website.

A few snippets:

"What Geoff Johns wrote for Hawkman, and what I intended to do with him, was stay loyal to the comic book personality of Carter Hall."

"At a certain point, my wife was on the set. Tom Welling made a comment to the producers that if they ever bring Hawkgirl onto the show, my wife should play her. The producers were tickled by that idea. I, of course, whispered, 'Don't do it! Don't do it!'... Because she saw the discomfort of the suit I was wearing. As soon as they said she should wear one, I said, 'Don't do it!' I am a relatively strong guy compared to her. I was sitting there, picturing her wearing this contraption, and I thought, 'Oh, my god!'."

"The way Carter ends up, I do believe there is more room for him in the Smallville universe. Wherever it intends to go. There is quite a lot of potential for diving into his backstory. It's a great set-up, it's all about where they decide to go with the show after this. That's a question mark for when they get picked up for season ten."

Details in the usual spot.

And a pic for the helluva it. ;-)

Enjoy!

... because the new Doctor Who was disappointed at not being "ginger"?

Seriously?

What up with people?

And in other news... once again the Australian Government completely fails to live up to their election promises and stop the Japanese Whalers from hunting in our souther - and protected - waters. Thanks to their total lack of interest and lack of guts to make a stand, the crew of the Andy Gil were mowed down - and their boat cut in half - by a whaling ship about 10 times its size. As a (land) member of Sea Shepherd, it's almost embarassing to have to have other folks coming here to protect our waters and our sea life because my own government won't make a stand.

Thank God nobody was too seriously injured... but this is getting ridiculous. I shudder to think what it will take before Kevin Rudd and Peter Garrett actually do the right thing and stop the slaughter of whales in our oceans.

Yes! A lumberjack!

Leaping from tree to tree as they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia!

The smell of fresh cut timber! The giant redwood! The larch! The fir! The mighty Scots pine! With my best girlie by my side, we'd sing... sing... sing!

Oh, you get the idea. *g*
